Why Plan South America?
Deep Knowledge
We specialise, which means all our know-how, experience and contacts are focused exclusively on Latin America and Antarctica. We have appraised each property and restaurant ourselves and know the terrain and distances. We have hand-selected the guides and private collections. We know what’s hot, what’s to pass on, when to travel and how to experience the very best of each region.
Peace of Mind
By booking through Plan South America you have the security of a financially protected holiday as offered by our ATOL licence (10811).
We offer a safety net in a part of the world where things don’t always run to plan. If something does go wrong, we’re contactable 24/7 by phone, email and WhatsApp. We speak the language and know how things work.
The Future
Community and conservation take an ever more prominent role in our operations as we work towards a more sustainable future for our planet.
For every journey we design, we charge a USD 150 per person contribution to carefully selected social and environmental initiatives. PSA is proud to match this commitment.
Our conservation programme has been developed in partnership with the World Land Trust.
Fast Track
We check you into all flights and e-mail boarding passes. If there’s a delay, we do our best to alert you in time to escape a long airport hang-out. Where available, fast track immigration is a given, and avoids hours of queuing.
Access
We give those looking for adventure the chance to travel to the wild places – which often means those with least infrastructure. Special access can be arranged to private estates and family-run fincas and, where budget allows, we build the camps ourselves

Testimonials
“I don’t know where to begin. The trip was once in a lifetime.”
The people were incredible and the horses and Patagonia itself was just spectacular.
We made friends with Alejandro and Paquita at Rio Quillen and it was hard to leave!! Everything there was perfect. Then we headed south and at Josefina went truly the most remote either of us have ever been. It was a dream. Also challenging, demanding riding in the best way. I am emotional trying to sum it up. We were treated like family everywhere we went. My husband and I are in hospitality so to be cared for like this is not only inspiring, it’s a rare treat.
Everything including your team over delivered. We are so grateful. And we will go back!
Thank you for your guidance (and patience!) along the whole way – we are so lucky.
“Having spoken to you everyday for a fortnight, we slightly feel there is someone missing in our lives. We absolutely loved our trip and were totally captivated by Argentina, its people, the food and, of course, the countryside of which we saw so much.”
“I just wanted to say what a triumph the whole expedition was. All brilliantly arranged by you and your team. And I really don’t think I would have changed a thing. We adored it all and felt we spent just the right amount of time at each place.”
Each hotel … was stunning. Best rooms, very quiet, very big and with great views… And really good food at all of them.
You also successfully managed to minimise or vary the travel – which was quite an achievement considering the distances we covered. Catching very early or late pm flights where possible really works as you don’t waste the day.
We loved our guides … All very intelligent, well informed and spoke excellent English. So, a thousand thanks. We will be recommending you and Plan South America to all our friends. Tom and I are already talking about a return next February.
The memories from our 3-week trip will last a lifetime and exceeded all expectation.
It was a long-term dream of mine to visit South America and when the opportunity presented itself, I knew I needed help to make the most of my limited travel time exploring as much of the continent as possible. Harry and his team at Plan South America were the perfect fit. From the outset Harry took time to listen and turn my wish list into a fantastic 3 week itinerary; blending must see highlights with little known gems. His first-hand knowledge of the countries was invaluable, as was his patience in dealing with many last-minute changes and requests.
Before departure we were given all the information needed and access to a real time app so keep us on track. Paired with the resourceful and indefatigable concierge, Franco, our 24/7 ground support was seamless… dealing with lost property to last minute tickets and Rio Festival costume hire! The local knowledge and contacts of the Plan South America team also helped us find wonderful artisans, exceptional restaurants and memorable “money can’t buy” experiences which would not have been possible left to our own devices.
