Casa Oropéndola

WELCOME TO CASA OROPÉNDOLA

Casa Oropéndola is set at a lofty 1600ms, in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta cloud forests, overlooking lush rainforest and coffee fields.

Breakfasts typically feature a kaleidoscope of fresh fruit and delicious eggs, served on the veranda with views over the jungle canopy towards the Caribbean sea.

What we love about Casa Oropéndola

  • The clouds! Experience a flood of clouds rise from the mountains, enter the house, and then slowly fade up into the sky for a breathtaking sunset – every afternoon.
  • The house can only be taken privately and sleeps up to 8 guests over 4 ensuite bedrooms. Casa Oropéndola comes fully staffed with housekeeping, a private chef and local guide.
  • Walkers, birders and botanists will be particularly happy here, with this area of Colombia home to an incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna, including countless butterflies and 400 different species of bird.
  • This ecosystem is particularly unique because of the cloud forest formations that shelter an incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna.
  • Those interested in exploring the infamous Lost City can do so either as a demanding 5-day trek through the jungle, or by helicopter straight from Casa Oropéndola.
