WELCOME TO AWASI ATACAMA

Awasi Atacama is located in the small town of San Pedro de Atacama, in northern Chile.

What we love about Awasi Atacama

  • The freedom that having your own guide and 4×4 vehicle offers
  • The food
  • Cocktails by the firepit
  • The individual cottages, made of stone, adobe and wood
  • The outdoor showers
  • The focus on sustainability – Awasi are officially carbon neutral
  • The outstanding service and exceptional guides
What to do at Awasi Atacama

We recommend our clients spend three or four nights at Awasi Atacama.

The longer you spend there, the more acclimatised you will become to the altitude, and the more excursions you will be able to do at a higher altitude.

Days are spent exploring the Moon Valley, Cejar Lagoon, Atacama Salt Flats and Tatio Geysers, all with your private guide. After dinner, head off with your guide and watch the incredible night skies of the Atacama desert.

The food at Awasi Atacama is incredible, so don’t feel guilty about taking a long lunch and spending the rest of the day by the pool, or exploring the artisan shops in San Pedro.

AWASI ATACAMA

Awasi Atacama is located in San Pedro de Atacama, just over an hour’s drive from Calama airport. Despite being situated in the centre of San Pedro itself, Awasi feels like an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the town.

There are direct daily flights from Santiago to Calama, and the flying time is approximately two hours.

When to Travel

We recommend visiting the Atacama desert between April and December, as some rain can be seen between January and March.

All year round, there is a noticeable fluctuation in the temperature between day and night.
