What we love about Anavilhanas
- Raised on wooden stilts, the bungalows and cottages are woven into the dense, green foliage of the jungle
- The Panoramic Bungalows have 10-metre-long glass walls looking directly out into the Amazon
- There’s an outdoor swimming pool, observation tower and a floating deck all with unbeatable views over the Amazon
- The Anavilhanas National Park is a Brazilian protected area and one of the most unique and well-preserved ecosystems in the world
- Local guides lead daily in-depth tours of the natural and cultural heritage of this region of Brazil
- Activities include canoeing in dug-out canoes, bird watching, jungle walks, piranha fishing, visiting Amazonian pink river dolphins, nocturnal sightseeing, alligator spotting and visiting isolated communities
- The Anavilhanas is the greatest river archipelago on the planet, with more than 400 islands
Set off at sunrise to marvel at the Amazon’s kaleidoscopic birdlife
Paddle through the mysterious Rio Negro to visit local communities or spend the day exploring the countless canals, lakes and islands of the Anavilhanas archipelago by boat.
Return to Anavilhanas Lodge for home-cooked meals and to dip in the swimming pool. As the sky begins to burn orange, head down to the floating deck for sundowners.
After dark, venture out to witness the jungle’s nightlife! Under the light of the stars, spot birds, sloths, snakes and alligators hidden in the sounds of darkness.
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge has a very privileged location directly across from Anavilhanas National Park in the mosquito-less Rio Negro region of the Amazon Rainforest.
The remote hotel is a 3-hour drive or a 30-minute seaplane from Manaus, Brazil. There are direct flights to Manaus from Sao Paulo.
